Robin (Irene Bates) was given her ‘bird’ name when she became the Guide Leader of 1st Hassocks Guides which she ran for 10 years. Robin gained her teachers qualification under ‘The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing’ and since opening the school in 1987, teaches under the ‘Association of American Dancing’ as a continuation of the local school that ran before Let’s Dance.
Sally-Ann
Sally-Ann is a qualified associate dance teacher under the ‘Association of American Dancing’. She trained at both Let’s Dance! (Hassocks) and focused on teacher training with Mrs Caro Anderson of DFF School of Dance, Pulborough (the only other school in the South to dance under the AAD umbrella).
Sally-Ann’s background is predominately in performing arts. She has had the pleasure of working in a variety of roles within the sector, including creating and managing the successful Brighton & Hove Albion cheerleading group; Gully’s Girls, and touring with Ronan Keating in 2001 to name but a couple of highlights.
Lara
Lara Marshall McBain studied Drama and Theatre Studies for GCSE, A- Level and at University. She has worked with numerous stage schools and holiday camps on entertainment as well as the performing arts. Previously Head of Drama at Ardingly Prep School, she is now a Drama teacher in the Senior school, teaching GCSE, A – Level and IB.
Her Mantra: to live by Einsteins theory: imagination is more important than knowledge! “ I believe everybody has the ability to act, and that all efforts that children make to put themselves in front of an audience should be celebrated”.
Sian
Sian joined the team teaching Cheerleading on Saturday mornings in September 2016 having gained her Cheer Qualification at University.
She also assists Sally-Ann and takes classes herself when she’s not working.
