Dance classes for all ages!
Who we are
We are a happy Dance School of over 200 pupils whose ages range from 3yrs to adult. We cover Ballet, Tap, Modern, Mime and Cheerleading.
Robin (Irene Bates) was given her ‘bird’ name when she became the Guide Leader of 1st Hassocks Guides which she ran for 10 years. Robin gained her teachers qualification under ‘The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing’ and since opening the school in 1987, teaches under the ‘Association of American Dancing’ as a continuation of the local school that ran before Let’s Dance.
Sally-Ann is a qualified associate dance teacher under the ‘Association of American Dancing’. She trained at both Let’s Dance! (Hassocks) and focused on teacher training with Mrs Caro Anderson of DFF School of Dance, Pulborough (the only other school in the South to dance under the AAD umbrella).
Sally-Ann’s background is predominately in performing arts. She has had the pleasure of working in a variety of roles within the sector, including creating and managing the successful Brighton & Hove Albion cheerleading group; Gully’s Girls, and touring with Ronan Keating in 2001 to name but a couple of highlights.
Lara Marshall McBain studied Drama and Theatre Studies for GCSE, A- Level and at University. She has worked with numerous stage schools and holiday camps on entertainment as well as the performing arts. Previously Head of Drama at Ardingly Prep School, she is now a Drama teacher in the Senior school, teaching GCSE, A – Level and IB.
Her Mantra: to live by Einsteins theory: imagination is more important than knowledge! “ I believe everybody has the ability to act, and that all efforts that children make to put themselves in front of an audience should be celebrated”.
Let’s Dance is led by Robin and Sally-Ann and supported by a talented team of guest teachers. The school believes that dancing should be fun. Let’s Dance encourages its pupils to learn new skills in a friendly, welcoming environment.
Let’s Dance is regulated by the examining body, The Association of American Dancing.
