Who we are
We are a happy Dance School of over 200 pupils whose ages range from 3yrs to adult. We cover Ballet, Tap, Modern, Mime, Contemporary Dance and Cheerleading.
Robin (Irene Bates) was given her ‘bird’ name when she became the Guide Leader of 1st Hassocks Guides which she ran for 10 years. The bird theme continued with all classes being named after birds. Naming the school Let’s Dance! seemed to identify Robin’s aim to teach dance with an element of fun!
Sally-Ann (MAADSTC, MMAG) has been teaching since 2006 under her Mum’s (Robin’s) umbrella but has danced since she was 3yrs old. Taught by Robin and Ms Caro Anderson (DFF, Pulborough) She gained her Student Teachers Qualification under the Association of American Dance.
Emma joined the School as a teacher in 2009 and provided maternity cover when Sally-Ann had her first son. Emma now offers Adult Ballet Classes on a Tuesday evening.
Emma has danced with Let’s Dance! (Hassocks) since she was a child as did her sisters. Her parents were an integral part of the backstage crew and now, keeping it in the family, her sister, daughter and niece all still dance with us!
After coming through the ranks of full time stage school I started dancing professionally in 2004 aged just 16. I met Sally-Ann soon after when I started my 7 wonderful years with Gully’s Girls, turning that dance experience to cheerleading experience in front of crowds of over 20,000 people for Brighton and Hove Albion. During the ten years we have known each other I have also taken on a number of exciting dance roles including 3 company runs with the Pink Paradiso Cabaret Club as well as backing dancing for the X Factor, the Wanted and Olly Murs.
Katie began her dance training from a very young age in Sussex before moving to London to continue her studies in Dance at Roehampton University in Contemporary Dance. As well as performing, working with choreographers such as the likes of Kenrick Sandy and Edward Lynch, Katie has always enjoyed teaching dance classes to all ages, in local communities. Katie has travelled with her dance and learnt a lot from other cultures. This helped with her eclectic style. Katie’s focus is commercial, street and house dance, as well as stretch sessions.
Katie’s biggest performance was the London 2012 Opening ceremony, with millions watching it is an experience hard to beat.

Her Mantra: to live by Einsteins theory: imagination is more important than knowledge! “ I believe everybody has the ability to act, and that all efforts that children make to put themselves in front of an audience should be celebrated”.
